Lectrosonics HMA Plug-on Transmitter

Band A1

The HMa will ideally match any microphone or line-level source, with its wide input gain range of 44dB and wide tuning range of 76 MHz in 100 kHz or 25 kHz steps for up to 3072 frequencies per band. A USB port makes firmware updates possible in the field. The HMa is ideal for a variety of wireless microphone applications including wireless boom, plant miking, and ENG in particular.

The HMa combines 24-bit digital audio with analog FM transmission resulting in superior radio reliability with superb audio performance. Audio frequency response of the HMa is 40 Hz-20 kHz+-1dB. Phantom power is selectable at 5, 15, and 48 volts, or can be turned off for use with dynamic microphones and line-level signal sources. The patented Digital Hybrid Wireless process delivers compander‐free audio and uses an analog FM carrier to transmit a specially encoded signal which delivers digital audio quality while spectrum efficient. The signature cam lock and quick-release mechanism make it easy to securely attach any microphone then detach it in seconds. Runs on AA batteries.

Lectrosonics SMDWB, SMWB Clip-on Transmitters

Band A1

To meet the demands for a variety of RF environments and applications, the “WB” series SM transmitters offer selectable output power of 25, 50, and 100 mW (25 and 50 mW for export versions). With higher power output, the operating range is improved, or, a more secure link can be relied upon for high RF noise environments. Battery life is unchanged with the different RF power selections.

The transmitters offer hands-free setup and adjustment using audible tones. They can be put to sleep to conserve battery power during setup while buried inside costuming, then awakened for normal operation when the production begins. Other features include input gain adjustment in 1 dB increments over a 44 dB range and adjustable low-frequency audio roll-off for 3 dB down points at 35,50, 70, 100, 120, or 150 Hz to control subsonic and very low-frequency audio content.

To meet the demand for both extended operating range and extended battery life, the “V” series SM transmitters offer selectable output power. A third selection at 50 mW is provided for some theatrical applications where the system design specifies lower transmitter power.

The input section features the unique servo bias input circuitry with a standard TA5M type jack for use with electret lavaliere mics, dynamic mics, or line-level signals. A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A-D converter. The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB for excellent overload protection and a dual release envelope that makes the limiter acoustically transparent while maintaining low distortion. The limiter recovers quickly from brief transients, with no audible side effects, and also recovers slowly from sustained high levels to keep audio distortion low while preserving short-term dynamics
